Introducing Our MTF Bra Size & Breast Form Calculator

Finding the right bra and breast form size when exploring your gender, transitioning or crossdressing is something we have helped customers with time and time again through in-person fittings at our Melbourne store. But with only one physical location, we know it can be difficult to offer the same level of guidance to people contacting us from across Australia and around the world. So, we decided to build something that could help online too.

Introducing our AMAB Bra & Breast Form Size Calculator! (Version 1.0)

Our interactive calculator is designed to help trans women, transfeminine people, crossdressers and others with an AMAB body find a useful starting point for their bra size and breast form size, wherever they live.

Please note: The calculator is intended as a starting point and real-life fit can vary between bodies, bra styles and brands. We plan to continue refining the calculator as we collect more data through volunteer fittings in-store.

Why We Created an AMAB Bra Size Calculator

Many traditional bra size calculators are designed around measurements typically used for AFAB bodies and do not account for wearing breast forms or inserts. AMAB bodies can also have different chest proportions, including a broader ribcage, different chest shape and different breast tissue distribution. This can mean a standard calculator does not always give the most useful starting point.

Instead of relying entirely on standard formulas, our AMAB bra size calculator has been developed using real-world fitting information we have collected in-store. With the help of some incredible volunteers, we have trialled different bras and breast form sizes across a range of body measurements, taking plenty of measurements and recording plenty of data along the way.

Our goal is to provide a more useful starting point of bra sizing for trans women, transfeminine people and crossdressers.

Find Your Bra Size and Breast Form Size Together

When researching existing AMAB and traditional bra size calculators, we noticed one major thing was often missing: an easy way to understand how breast forms may affect your finished bra size. We wanted our calculator to be simple to use, without requiring complicated measurements or having you contort yourself with a measuring tape.

Simply enter your measurements, then experiment with different breast form weights to see how they may change your estimated cup size and overall silhouette. Our breast forms are available across a wide range of weights, often increasing in increments of 100g to 200g per pair. This gives you much more control over the look you want compared to choosing between Small, Medium or Large variants.

Who Is the Calculator For?

Crossdressers

Many of our crossdressing customers enjoy experimenting with different silhouettes, from a subtle everyday shape through to a fuller, bustier look. Our crossdressing bra and breast form calculator makes it easy to experiment with different breast form weights and see how they may affect your estimated bra size.

Because cup size is relative to band size, the same breast forms can create very different results on different body shapes.

Trans Women & Transfeminine People

Figuring out your bra size can be an exciting and affirming part of transition.

Your measurements may also change over time, particularly if you choose to undergo HRT, so having a simple way to estimate your size can be helpful when buying your first bra or reassessing your fit later.

Our bra size calculator for trans women is designed to give you a practical starting point while also allowing you to experiment with breast forms if you would like to add some additional volume to your bust.

Anyone With an AMAB Body Shape

You do not need to identify as transgender or a crossdresser to use the calculator.

If you have an AMAB body shape and want help estimating your bra size, experimenting with breast forms or simply understanding how bra sizing may work for your proportions, the calculator can provide a useful place to start.

How to Use the Calculator

1. Measure Your Underbust

Measure firmly around your ribcage directly underneath your chest, keeping the measuring tape level all the way around.

2. Measure Your Overbust

Measure around the fullest part of your natural chest without wearing breast forms.

3. Choose Your Breast Form Size

Select different breast form weights to see how they may change your estimated finished bra and cup size.

Breast Form Size Isn't the Same for Every Body

One of the biggest misconceptions around breast form sizing is that a particular breast form automatically equals a particular cup size. You will often see breast forms advertised as "B cup", "C cup" or "D cup", but this can be misleading because bra cup size is relative to band size.

The same pair of breast forms can therefore produce a very different cup size depending on the person's chest measurements.

For example, 900g breast forms on someone with a 33.5-inch underbust and 35-inch overbust may produce an estimated DD cup, while the same 900g breast forms on someone with a 46-inch underbust and 48-inch overbust may produce an estimated B cup.

That is why we believe breast form weight, dimensions and your own body measurements are much more useful than relying on a cup-size label alone.

Choosing your first bra or breast forms should feel exciting, not like solving a maths problem.

Our MTF Bra Size & Breast Form Calculator is designed to make the process a little easier by giving you a simple starting point based on your own measurements and allowing you to experiment with different breast form sizes before you buy.

As Version 1.0, it will continue to evolve as we collect more fitting data and learn from our volunteers.

FAQs

What Size Breast Forms Do I Need?

The right breast form size depends on your chest measurements and the silhouette you would like to achieve. Smaller and lighter breast forms can create a more subtle shape, while larger forms can create a fuller bust. Our breast form size calculator lets you compare different weights against your measurements to see how each option may affect your estimated bra size.

Can Breast Forms Change My Bra Cup Size?

Yes. Breast forms add volume and projection to the chest, which can increase the difference between your underbust and finished bust measurement and therefore change your estimated cup size. How much your cup size changes depends on both the size of the breast forms and your individual body measurements.

Are Bra Sizes Different for AMAB Bodies?

Bra sizing systems themselves are not different for AMAB bodies, but body proportions can affect how a particular size fits. AMAB bodies may have a broader ribcage, different chest shape or less breast tissue, so standard bra calculators do not always provide the most useful result. Our calculator is designed to provide an additional starting point for people with AMAB proportions, particularly when breast forms are being worn.
